PERAN KEUNGGULAN KOMPETITIF DALAM MEMEDIASI PENGARUH ORIENTASI KEWIRAUSAHAAN TERHADAP KINERJA UMKM
The Role of Competitive Advantage in Mediating the Influence of Entrepreneurial Orientation on MSME Performance

Entrepreneurial orientation, encompassing innovation, proactiveness, and risk-taking, is believed to enhance competitive advantage and MSME performance. Competitive advantage reflects the ability of MSMEs to create added value through product differentiation, superior quality, and competitive pricing. This study aims to explore the influence of entrepreneurial orientation on MSME performance, with competitive advantage serving as a mediating variable. The research focuses on women entrepreneurs in Sumbawa District, Sumbawa Regency, who play a pivotal role in the local economy. To test the research hypotheses, Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed as the analytical tool. The population of this study comprises women-owned MSMEs in Sumbawa District. Using the rule of thumb of ten times the number of paths in the structural model, a sample of 60 respondents was determined and selected through purposive sampling. The findings reveal that entrepreneurial orientation significantly affects MSME performance, both directly and indirectly, through competitive advantage as a mediating variable. Women entrepreneurs with strong entrepreneurial orientation are proven capable of fostering competitive advantages that support business growth.
