Publication Ethics

KAGANGA KOMUNIKA: Journal of Communication Science is a journal that contains the writing of research results in the field of Social and Communication. This Scientific Code of Ethics applies to all those involved during the publication process. All these parties include the Journal Manager, Editor, Reviewer, and Author / Author. This Scientific Publication Ethics is based on the Head of LIPI Regulation Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications. Then the research results published in the journal have never been published anywhere before. if in the future there is a violation of the Code of Ethics, it can be accounted for in the future in accordance with applicable regulations.

 

Scope of Duties and Responsibilities of the Journal Management Team

  1. Naming the Journal, determining the scope of the journal's scientific focus, determining periodic publications, and maintaining the quality of journal accreditation or recreditation.
  2. Determining the editorial team periodically when needed.
  3. Maintaining relationships between publishers, editors, bestarial partners, and other supporting parties.
  4. Respect matters of confidentiality and privacy, both for researchers or contributing authors, the editorial team, and bestarial partners.
  5. Carry out applicable norms, rules and regulations regarding intellectual property ownership rights (IPR), especially copyright.
  6. Reviewing the applicable journal policies and communicating them to authors, editorial team, bestary partners, and readers.
  7. Develop code of ethics guidelines for editors and bestary partners.
  8. Publish and edit the journal regularly according to the provisions.
  9. Managing the availability of funding sources for the sustainability of journal publishing operations.
  10. Build and expand the network of cooperation for the development of the Journal.
  11. Managing licensing and legal aspects required by the journal.

Scope of Duties and Responsibilities of the Editorial Team

  1. The Editorial Team provides corrections and responses to the writing so that the writing entered by the author is easy for readers to understand.
  2. The Editorial Team provides responses to the author's writing in accordance with applicable writing rules.
  3. The editorial team tries to improve the quality of publications periodically;
  4. The Editor Team upholds the rules of freedom of opinion objectively,
  5. The Editor Team submits clarifications and apologies regarding the corrected writing if necessary.
  6. The Editor Team must ensure that the author's writing does not intersect with racial and ethnic issues that cause harm to the Publisher.
  7. The Editor Team coordinates with the author, the editor-in-chief of the publisher and the Journal Managerial Team if the writing is controversial.
  8. The Editor Team receives, analyzes, then follows up complaints, criticisms and suggestions from all parties involved in journal publishing;
  9. The Editorial Team supports initiatives to educate researchers and authors about the importance of publication ethics,
  10. The Editorial Team is not subjective or defends its own opinions, authors, researchers or third parties that may result in decisions that are not balanced and objective,
  11. The Editor Team instructs authors/writers, so that they can revise the paper until it is categorized as suitable for publication.
  12. The Editor Team edits manuscripts to be published until they are in accordance with the journal template that has been determined.
  13. The editorial team assists the editor-in-chief and journal managerial team in conducting the final stage of manuscript collection before publication, especially in language, technical and layout formats.

Scope of Duties and Responsibilities of Bestari Partners

  1. Receive an assignment from the editor team to review the paper and submit the results of the review to the editor then serve as a recommendation for the eligibility of the paper to be published.
  2. The reviewer may not conduct a review of the writing in which he/she is involved, either directly or indirectly.
  3. Maintain the confidentiality and privacy of the author by not disseminating data, correction results, suggestions, and recommendations.
  4. Require the author to make improvements to the reviewed paper.
  5. Re-correct the previously corrected paper in accordance with the predetermined standard rules.
  6. The reviewed paper must be corrected in accordance with the predetermined time and adjusted based on the rules of scientific writing (legality, analysis, author, method, conclusion, and the like).

Scope of Author's Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Ensure that the names and affiliations in the list of authors are in accordance with the criteria as authors in accordance with applicable regulations.
  2. Collectively responsible for all forms of work and writing content in accordance with applicable scientific writing rules.
  3. State the origin of resources (including funding), either directly or indirectly.
  4. Explain the limitations contained in the research conducted.
  5. Respond to comments and corrections that have been made by the bestary partners professionally and in accordance with the specified time.
  6. Inform the Editorial Team if they will withdraw the submitted work if it has not yet entered the publication stage.
  7. The author is willing to make a statement that the written work sent is original, has never been published anywhere in any language, and is not in the process of submission in other publishers.
