The purpose of the Student Regiment in each University is expected to help prepare students who have insight, ethics, discipline, physical, and national knowledge of national defense efforts. The Surabaya Region 1 Coordinator Student Regiment applies the basic principles of participatory communication in actively involving members starting from identifying problems, finding solutions, to decision making. The forms of participatory communication that occur in the Surabaya Region 1 Coordinator Student Regiment are heteroglasia, dialogic, polyphony, and carnival. The implications of this study are that each university is expected to provide knowledge and information about Menwa and national defense insights to general students.
