COMMUNITY PERCEPTION OF HYDROPONIC PLANT INNOVATION IN MAJIDI VILLAGE, SELONG DISTRICT, EAST LOMBOK DISTRICT

This research discusses community perceptions of hydroponic plant innovation in Majidi Village, Selong District, East Lombok Regency. Hydroponics is one of the agricultural system innovations of the future due to the practicality of cultivation, it can be applied anywhere and at any time, even on the roof of a house. The objectives of this research consist of; 1) to describe the public's understanding of hydroponic plant innovation, 2) to describe the public's perception of hydroponic plant innovation, and 3) to describe the response of hydroponic farmers to the public's perception as hydroponic consumers. The research method used by researchers is qualitative design in the context of collecting data in the form of words and human actions and researchers do not count or quantify the qualitative data obtained. The research was carried out in Majidi Village, Selong District, East Lombok Regency. Data collection uses observation, interviews and documentation methods. Next, the data is analyzed including data reduction, data presentation, as well as drawing conclusions and verification. The research results found that the public's perception of hydroponic plant innovation in Majidi Village, Selong District can be categorized as strongly agreeing. The conclusion is that: 1) The community understands hydroponic innovation, 2) The community provides a positive response or perception towards hydroponic innovation, and 3) hydroponic innovation actors (farmers) also respond positively to the response of the community as hydroponic consumers. They argue that hydroponics is very useful and has a very good impact on society.
