One solution to address the issue of food security globally is in the fisheries sector. Indonesia is considered a solution as it is the second largest fish producer in the world, as stated by the FAO in The State of World Fisheries and Aquaculture 2022 report. However, in order to increase fish production, aquaculture needs to be conducted to maintain the stability of fisheries in Indonesia. To facilitate this process, an automatic fish feeder device is required. This device needs to undergo research, specifically in the field of buckling analysis. Buckling is a failure phenomenon that occurs due to compressive pressure on a structure, causing a change in its shape in the form of lateral deflection to another equilibrium form. In this analysis, calculations are performed for critical loads, deformation, and equivalent stress. The applied load on the frame is 100 kg or 981 N. The obtained critical load for frame type 1 with a cross-sectional area of 40 mm x 40 mm x 0.5 mm is 13.879,923 N, while for frame type 2 with a cross-sectional area of 40 mm x 25 mm x 0.5 mm, the critical load is 12.621,791 N. The maximum deformation for frame 1 is 0.25013 mm, and the minimum deformation is 0 mm. For frame 2, the maximum deformation is 0.53323 mm, and the minimum deformation is 0 mm. The maximum equivalent stress for frame 1 is 180.38 MPa, and the minimum equivalent stress is 0.0046383 MPa. The maximum equivalent stress for frame 2 is 99,735 MPa, and the minimum equivalent stress is 0.0016464 MPa.
Yahdil, Fadhli Dzil Ikram, Wirya Sarwana Copyright (c) 2024 Jurnal Gear : Energi, Perancangan, Manufaktur & Material https://jurnal.uts.ac.id/index.php/gearftrs/article/view/3198 Sun, 21 Jan 2024 00:00:00 +0700 ANALYSIS OF THE INFLUENCE OF HOT AIR FLOW RATE AND DRYING TIME ON THE DRYING RATE AND MOISTURE CONTENT OF AUTOMATIC TAPIOCA CRACKER DRYING MACHINE https://jurnal.uts.ac.id/index.php/gearftrs/article/view/3296
Tapioca crackers are a type of crackers made from tapioca flour produced from cassava tubers. In the production of tapioca crackers, one of the essential processes is the drying process. This research aims to examine the influence of hot air flow velocity and drying time on the drying rate and moisture content of tapioca crackers using an automatic drying machine. The research method used is experimental, by testing the effects on the drying rate and moisture content in the cracker drying machine. The test result show that highest drying rate is achieved with a velocity of 2,5 m/sand drying time of 150 minute, resulting in a drying rate of 1,43 grams/minute. Furthermore, the moisture content testing at 180 and 210 minutes drying time, with air velocity of ,1, 2 and 2,5 m/s, has reached the moisture content suitable foor the Indonesian national standard (SNI), which is a maximum of 8%. In conclusion, increasing the air velocity enhances the drying rate, and with a longer drying time, the moisture content decreases.

Keywords : Cracker drying, automatic drying machine, drying rate, tapioca cracker moisture content.
Irfan Maulana, Mietra Anggara, Aldrin, Amri Hidayat Copyright (c) 2024 Jurnal Gear : Energi, Perancangan, Manufaktur & Material https://jurnal.uts.ac.id/index.php/gearftrs/article/view/3296 Sat, 20 Jan 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Analisis Kekuatan Rangka Mesin Chipper Kayu Menggunakan Metode Elemen Hingga https://jurnal.uts.ac.id/index.php/gearftrs/article/view/3651
The frame is an important component in a machine to support the engine load so that the frame must be guaranteed safe and strong. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding primary air ducts and fuel variations on the thermal efficiency of the stove and determine the type of fuel on input power. The analysis method used is the analysis of the Water Boiling Test (WBT) experiment. Based on the results of the study, testing the input power value on a biomass stove without a tube and with the addition of a primary air tube resulted in an input value of 40,1 kw and the lowest value resulted from a variation of a tubeless stove with coconut shell fuel with a value of 2,71 kw. By testing the output power value on a biomass stove without a tube and with the addition of a primary air tube produced the best output value of 1,53 kw and the lowest value was produced from a variety of
tubeless stoves with coconut shell fuel with a value of 0,10 kw. And thermal efficiency testing on biomass stoves, with the addition of primary air tubes produces the best thermal efficiency value of 4,96% and the lowest thermal efficiency obtained from the variety of stoves without additional
primary air tubes with coconut shell fuel, which is 3,36 %.
Muhammad Asri Habiby, Mietra Anggara, Aldrin Aldrin Copyright (c) 2024 Jurnal Gear : Energi, Perancangan, Manufaktur & Material https://jurnal.uts.ac.id/index.php/gearftrs/article/view/3672 Sat, 20 Jan 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Effect of Air Speed and Drying Capacity On the Tongkol Fish Crackers Drying Machine https://jurnal.uts.ac.id/index.php/gearftrs/article/view/3674
Research on the influence of air drying speed on crackers has been carried out by Siregar, M.S., Anggara, M., Aldrin, A., & Hidayat, A. Meanwhile, research has never been carried out on testing the capacity of a drying machine for mackerel fish crackers to determine the capacity of a drying machine according to the size of the machine, namely with dimensions of 40 cm long, 40 cm wide and 85 cm high. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of air speed and drying capacity on drying rate, air content and drying efficiency on a tuna cracker drying machine. This research uses an experimental drying method using a tuna cracker drying machine by testing air speed and drying capacity. From the test results, the best drying rate between the two was at a speed of 2,5 m/s with 100% capacity. The best water content is at a speed of 2 m/s with a capacity of 50% and a capacity of 75% and at a speed of 2,5 m/s with a capacity of 50% and a capacity of 75% (according to the 12% cracker water content standard, SNI 0272:1991) as well as drying efficiency the best between the two is at a speed of 2,5 m/s 100% capacity.
Iksan Wira Yuda, Aldrin Aldrin, Mietra Anggara, Amri Hidayat Copyright (c) 2024 Jurnal Gear : Energi, Perancangan, Manufaktur & Material https://jurnal.uts.ac.id/index.php/gearftrs/article/view/3674 Sat, 20 Jan 2024 00:00:00 +0700
