The resistance value of the soil type is influenced by several factors, namely the type of soil, soil layers, soil moisture, temperature. The use of a Neutral Grounding Resistor as a transformer secondary neutral point resistance is part of the coordination of protection in the electrical system because without good grounding it can harm living things around the transformer and can even damage them. The purpose of this study was to determine the value of grounding resistance and its effect on the 40ohm NGR grounding system and its effectiveness on feeder protection. Quantitative research method by measuring the value of grounding resistance and NGR, followed by a simulation using the ETAP 16.0 application. System data obtained from Pekat system and represented in SLD on ETAP 16.0. The calculation results obtained single-phase fault current to ground depending on the resistance value of the grounding system and the location of the fault. The value of the grounding system in the Pekat electrical system is 157.8 ohms. Fault simulation on the feeder with a grounding system value of 40 ohms obtained a maximum fault current of 269 Amperes, while for a 157.8ohm grounding system, a maximum fault current of 75 Amperes was obtained.
