Abstract

Rhodamin B is a synthetic dye that is used as a textile coloring agent and is prohibited in its use, when observed in foods containing striking red colorof Rhodamin B which is lumpy and uneven in food. Rhodamin B if consumed can cause enlargement of the liver, kidneys, and lymph and enlargement of organs. This study aims to determine the presence or absence of Rhodamin B coloring in children's snacks especially on snacks such as crackers,cotton candy,jelly and to determine the levels of Rhodamin B from children's snack food samples around SD Sraturejo 1 and SD Sraturejo 2. This research was conducted in two stages, namely qualitative and quantitative. The research data were analyzed using the TLC method with replication 3 times, if there were the same stain colors and the Rf price close to the standard it would be continued using the Spectrophotometer method with a wavelength of 558nm. Based on the analysis results obtained by the linear regression equation y = a + bx (y = 1,938 + 0,205x) with Rhodamin B levels of 0.075 ± 0.0027 from each sample.
