Abstract

 

Population growth in Sumbawa city is influenced by various aspects of life, such as population growth,economic growth, increasing living needs so that a tool is needed to move from the place of origin to the destination. As the population increases, it also causes disruptions and problems in traffic which ultimately lead to a decrease in the performance of intersection such as congestion on every road, and the length of the vehicle queue is cinflict that is often encountered. One of the intersections that expriences that densest and lowest traffic volume at certain times. The BTN Bukit Permai four-way intersection is one of the unsignalized intersections in the Sumbawa regency area. The type of road environment around the BTN Bukit Permai intersection is a commercial area, this can be seen from the presence of home stays, Alfa Mart, housing, ATMs, schools which cause congestion on the road. The performance of the BTN Bukit Permai unsignalized intersection shows a degree of saturation (DS) value = 0,283 which should be <0.85. Of the three design alternatives, the one considered to meet the standards is alternative (3), namely making geometric improvements to the intersection to 9 m, widening the mouth of the main road intersection, widening the mouth of the minor road intersection and installing no-stop signs at this intersection, resulting in a degree of saturation (DS) = 0.77 as required by MKJI 1997, namely ds ?.0.85
