Journal Policies
PUBLICATION ETHICS
The Indonesian Journal of Economics and Business (JEBI) is a scientific publication that contains research results in the fields of economics and business in general. This statement of scientific ethics is a statement of ethics for all parties involved in the process of publishing this scientific journal, namely
- Managers,
- Editors,
- Peer Reviewers,
- and Authors/Writers.
This statement of scientific publication ethics refers to LIPI Head Regulation Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publication.
Essentially, this Code of Ethics for Scientific Publication upholds three ethical values in publication, namely
- Neutrality, which is freedom from conflicts of interest in publication management;
- Fairness, which is giving authorship rights to those who are entitled to them as authors/writers; and
- Honesty, which is free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in article publication.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief
- Determining the name of the journal, scientific scope, periodicity, and accreditation if necessary.
- Determining the membership of editors.
- Define the relationship between the publisher, editors, peer reviewers, and other parties.
- Respect confidentiality, both for contributing researchers, authors/writers, editors, and peer reviewers.
- Apply norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
- Review journal policies and communicate them to authors/writers, editors, peer reviewers, and readers.
- Create a code of conduct for editors and peer reviewers.
- Publish the journal regularly.
- Ensure the availability of funds for the sustainability of journal publication.
- Build cooperation and marketing networks.
- Improve the quality of the journal.
- Preparing permits and other legal aspects.
Duties and Responsibilities of Editors
- Editors provide comments on authors' writings so that readers can understand what the authors want to convey, through comments written on the manuscript.
- Editors provide comments on authors' writings in accordance with PUEBI (General Guidelines for Indonesian Spelling) or language that complies with journal standards.
- The editor strives to continuously improve the quality of publications.
- The editor promotes freedom of expression objectively.
- The editor conveys corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when necessary.
- The editor ensures that the author's writing does not involve SARA (ethnicity, religion, race, and intergroup relations) or anything that could harm the publisher and coordinates the author's writing with the publisher's editorial board if the writing is slightly controversial.
- Editors receive, review, and follow up on complaints from all parties involved in journal publishing.
- Editors support initiatives to educate researchers about publication ethics.
- Editors do not hold onto their own opinions, those of authors, or those of third parties that could result in biased decisions.
- Editors encourage authors/writers to improve their manuscripts until they are ready for publication.
- The editor formats the manuscript to be published so that it conforms to the journal template.
- The editor assists the editor-in-chief in finalizing the collection of manuscripts before they are printed and published, especially in terms of language, format, and layout.
Duties and Responsibilities of Peer Reviewers
- Provide objective and unbiased written feedback on the scientific value and contribution of the manuscript to the development of science.
- Indicate whether the manuscript is clear, complete, and relevant, and whether it is within the scope of the journal;
- Refrain from providing personal criticism or comments; and
- Maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts by not discussing them with unrelated parties or disclosing the information contained in the manuscripts to others.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Website Administrator
The Website Administrator is responsible for managing the journal's website. Specifically, the scope of the Website Administrator's duties is as follows:
- Setting up the journal's website;
- Configuring system options and managing user accounts;
- Registering editors, reviewers, and authors;
- Managing journal features;
- Viewing report statistics; and
- Uploading/publishing papers that have been accepted.
