Study of Post-Mining Land Reclamation with Environmental Concept

Indonesia ranked as top five world producer of minerals and coal. This high production numbers contributes greatly to national income from the Non-Tax State Revenue (PNPB) sector. While mining industries contributing positively to the nation, it is also contributed negatively, especially for the environment. The contribute comes from the post-mining land that abandoned without reclamation efforts. Some of the negative impacts to environment include water pollution, air pollution and land damage. This study aims to analyze several types of reclamation which efficient and suitable with environmental concept to apply on post-mining land. The research method used a qualitative analysis using secondary data from relevant literatures, which then processed with descriptive analysis methods. The general problem happened at post-mining land usually are land degradation marked by decreasing of land productivity, and often becomes serious problem which affecting the physics, chemical and biology of soil, taking the recovery process a lot of time. The study revealed several types of reclamation which efficient and suitable with environmental concept comprised of adaptive plants planting, provision of organic matter for soil fertility increasion, and utilization of microorganisms for soil nutrient cycle. These study of reclamation has been done on many post-mining land in Indonesia, and many of them is proved to be success.
