THE EFFECTIVE STEPS TO MASTER SKIMMING AND SCANNING TECHNIQUES

The purpose of this article is to remind us, as readers, of the basic techniques to read more easily and increase our knowledge. Understanding these techniques can benefit us and everyone else. This research uses a questionnaire method to determine how the scanning technique affects the importance of reading techniques. All the sources or references provide us with more education about the advantages of these techniques for readers and students. According to the data we collected from a Google Forms questionnaire with eight responses, all respondents indicated that skimming and scanning techniques are important for various reasons, primarily for saving time and reading wisely. Does it matter to everyone? The responses varied, with some stating it is important for college students, others for anyone, researchers, and many more. In summary, these techniques are important for all people, except babies and the elderly. The result showed 100% of the respondents acknowledged the importance of scanning and skimming. Futhemore, the majority of respondents (82.4%) believe that these methods are valuable for individuals in all contexts, highlighting their broad applicability. Additionally, a smaller proportion of respondents (13.7%) specifically recognize the relevance of these techniques for students, particularly in academic settings where efficient information processing is crucial.
