CRITICAL DISCOURSE ANALYSIS IN PRABOWO SUBIANTO’S INTERVIEW AT QATAR ECONOMIC FORUM

Abstract

This research aims at investigating cohesive and coherence in text, and the three aspects of CDA based on Norman Fairclough explanation i.e., language, power and social interaction. The methodology of this research is qualitative descriptive method by transcribing text and explaining using theory of Fairclough, technique of collecting data is started from transcribing, analysing data and presenting data. The result shows that language in the text shows how intelligent speaker and hearer and how they maintain their argument by convincing each other. Haslinda as an interviewer asking many questions and people concern regarding of Prabowo’s background as a military general.
