Abstract

Cost effectiveness of fuel in power plants is very important to optimize resource use and reduce environmental impact. The purpose of this study will be to analyze the value of using MFO fuel in diesel power plants. The data collection method is carried out through field testing and data collection from case studies on diesel engines operating with MFO. Diesel engine performance data with MFO were then analyzed using statistical methods and comparison with the standards that apply at PT Sumber Rejeki Power. The result of calculating the total MFO value in 1 day is 137,875 Liters, with a cost of IDR 1,126,714,500.00. The average fuel consumption is shown from 09:00 to 00:00 with an MFO value of 5,750 Liters and a cost of IDR 46,989,000.00. The highest usage of MFO is shown at 05:00 with an MFO value of 5,825 Liters and a fee of IDR 47,601,900.00. And for the lowest usage MFO is shown at 01:00 with an MFO value of 5,650 Liters and a cost of IDR 46,171,800.00. From the results of the above analysi  it can be concluded that the use of MFO fuel for SFC is not more than 0.25 (according to company regulations) so it can be categorized that the performance of the generator engine at PT Sumber Rejeki Power is still effective in kWh production.
