Abstract

Electrical disturbances can cause a decrease in frequency which results in the failure of
successive generating units resulting in total system failure. This research is aimed at
maintaining the frequency by gradually releasing the load so that wider system disturbances
do not occur. The method used is a quantitative experimental method and data analysis is
done by calculation. The frequency reduction rate (df/s) of the Sumbawa PLTMG unit 3
obtained a 7.5 MW power supply of -0.23395415 Hz/sec and carried out load shedding exist
of 7.53MW when it reaches UFR stage 1 49.2 ? 49.1922239 Hz, when the power supply is 15
MW the frequency drop rate (df/s) is -0.536020905 Hz/sec and perform load shedding exist
of 15.41MW when reaching UFR stage 1 49.2 ? 49.19473508 Hz of 7.53 MW and when
reaching UFR stage 2 49.0 ? 48.99382761 Hz of 7.61 MW, then carry out alternative load shedding of 17 .76 MW when reaching UFR stage 1 49.2 ? 49.19473508 Hz of 7.53 MW and
when reaching UFR stage 2 49.0 ? 48.99382761 Hz of 10.23 MW
