Abstract

Leakage of LPG gas cylinders is the main cause in cases of fires caused by damaged gas hoses, improper installation of regulators, and strong pressure on LPG which contains highly flammable propane and butane elements. In this study a tool was designed that could detect LPG gas leaks using the MQ-6 sensor. By Microcontroller Wemos ESP32, Information about the occurrence of LPG gas leaks is then used to control servo motors and buzzers. If there is an LPG gas leak, the servo motor will pull the regulator valve on the LPG gas cylinder to open the regulator valve. At the same time the buzzer will beep 3 times. In addition, the microcontroller will send notifications to the device smartphone. The test results show that the designed LPG gas leak detector can work well during the working process of the tool, all outputs which are a source of reminders when a gas leak occurs will sound simultaneously because it has been programmed in the Arduino software.
