Abstract

Boba's shop is a business that requires a large amount of electrical energy, such as room lights,
street lamps, decorative lights, presses and refrigerators, resulting in large electricity bills. To
analyze electricity costs, research was carried out at a boba shop by simulating a hybrid PLTS using
SAM Software. The simulation results show that the weather is favorable or solar radiation at that
location is quite high. In September the solar radiation is very high to generate power of 190kWh
and the lowest is in December of 132kWh. The power requirement at the boba shop is around
2.38kWh/day based on calculations on the monthly load at the boba shop according to data from
PT. PLN (Persero) ULP Taliwang. If the PLTS with solar panels with a capacity of 300Wp totals 4
units, the VRLA Gel 12V x 100AH batteries total 4 and are simulated according to weather data at
the boba shop location to produce around 1,933kWh per day in one year and the PLTS construction
costs $ 4,592. The application of hybrid PLTS to boba shops will be very good, because most of
them can be backed up by PLTS and only a small portion requires energy from PLN so that the
electricity costs that must be incurred are only IDR 76,569.1 in 1 year
