RENEWABLE ENERGY PLANNING AT THE SUMBAWA UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY IN 2042 USES AN APPROACH LONG- RANGE ENERGY ALTERNATIVE PLANNING SYSTEM (LEAP)

Abstract

Solar energy has very good potential to be applied in Indonesian territory, considering that Indonesia's territory is quite wide and is located on the equator so that the sun's intensity is quite stable with an average of around 4.8 kWh/m2 per day throughout Indonesia. With a relatively good solar energy potential, solar energy planning research is carried out at the Sumbawa University of Technology (UTS) for the next 20 years with a simulation using the Long-Range Alternative Planning System (LEAP) software. The experimental method used in this study. The planning method used in this study is the methodend-use and focuses on collecting data on electricity demand at UTS. Then the data is analyzed to plan the use of renewable energy at UTS using LEAP software. The need for electrical energy for the next 20 years in the rectorate building of the Sumbawa University of Technology (UTS) in the BAU scenario is 879,911 kWh, scenario 1 is 1,942,879 kWh and scenario 2 is 2,362,618 kWh. 2 From the simulation results for each scenario, it is known that the existence of PLTS can help reduce energy use from PLN, which if totaled in each scenario, namely, the BAU scenario is 7,163,860 kWh. in scenario 1 that is equal to 5,316.856 kWh, while in scenario 2 the fuel expenditure obtained is equal to 4,387.383 kWh.
