Abstract

Assertive communication is a communication skill that is important for every individual and can be formed by learning processes in everyday life, one of them is through involvement (inclusion) in the organization. The purpose of this study is to determine whether involvement in an organization can build an individual's assertive communication skills, and how to describe the organization. This research is examined with Postpositivism paradigm, Qualitative Descriptive Analysis method. Data collection techniques through interviews and questionnaires. The results showed the involvement of individuals, in this study, namely students of the Communication Department FISIP UHAMKA in a religious, student and community organization, namely the Ikatan Mahasiswa Muhammadiyah (IMM) can build and train individuals to become an assertive communicators and communicants. Organizations that can build a person's assertiveness are having a patterned and orderly Organizational Culture, a positive Organizational Climate including Team Leadership Style by implementing empowerment and motivation, Collaborative Conflict Resolution and Good Direction of Information Flow in the Organization.
