Abstract

composed of a collection of solar modules (photovoltaic), array, inverter, cablestring, and
safety equipment arranged in a single system. Each of these components has a role in distributing the generated electrical energy photovoltaic to PLN. There are many problems that occur in PLTS Sengkol, one of the problems that often occurs is the occurrence losses or power losses in photovoltaic which is caused by shadow (shadow) covering photovoltaic. Loss is power leakage or power loss along the electric power distribution lines. This study
aims to maximize the electric power generated by PLTS. Shadow Is a light that is blocked by an object, then a shadow is formed. Several studies have shown the resulting electricity production photovoltaic has decreased due to the shadow effect, this applies if observed on photovoltaic Because it's getting smaller losses that occur, the greater the production of
electrical power generated. Shadows are caused by the apparent motion of the sun. The apparent motion of the sun is caused by the rotation of the earth on its axis where the earth rotates from west to east so that it seems as if the sun is moving from east to west. The method used in this study is a quantitative method, namely a method that calculates and analyzes losses that happened. Based on the results of calculations and analysis that has
been done, it is obtained that the power losses due to shadows are 1.98% generated by photovoltaic.
